Namaste Gaon was started by Pulkit Khatri & Shubham Soni in March 2018 as a college project in 3rd year of their graduation where Namaste Gaon was digitizing the municipal towns by providing local updates and information digitally. The first version of the app contained all the local information, including bus schedules, government & non-government bodies contact lists & a local complaint system. We achieved 1000+ app downloads in 24 hours as launched from one town. The initiative was featured and appreciated by more than 15 newspapers and local news channels including Patrika, .
Later, both founders analyzed the user behavior on the platform and moved to the Hyperlocal News Platform. In October 2018, Namaste Gaon was incubated, supported and provided with the grant by Govt. of Rajasthan under the iStart Program.
In March 2020, Namaste Gaon secured a seed funding of INR 10,00,000 (USD 13,573) which recorded the exponential growth in users and impressions.
